does the prius have multilink rear suspension because toyota wanted it to actually be able to get through corners well or does it have that because it's fucking heavy and toyota needed something that distributes weight better than the budget corolla torsion beam

@Motorcardiaries The stock rear roll bar has a different roll centre from the rear torsion beam axle. When it reaches its limit the roll bar 'binds' the axle causing a rear wheel to lift off the ground. This transfers weight to the opposite front wheel, significantly increasing understeer.
