With Ruin now nerfed, what's the best gen slow down perk in DBD?
Just because Ruin got nerfed doesn’t mean it’s trash. It’s still a good perk, just not as good as it once was. (felt like pointing that out :p) With that said, I think some of the best perks for slowing generator progress are Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel and Discordance, if you’re willing to pressuring gens, and Thanatophobia for slowing down overall progress, including gen progress.
I have an i5 6400 in my gaming PC. Should I upgrade? I play Rainbow 6 and Dead by Daylight.
Even a non-HT quad core (like the 6400) does great in those games. The gpu is still a good one in my opinion, so if you'll want to play newer titles, you might wanna look at something with at least 8 threads (prefferably a 1st gen 6-core ryzen, but getting a 6700 might be cheaper since you can reuse the mobo). Being CPU bound is terrible. I had an 7300hq (similar to your cpu) and a 1050 and was constantly at 100% cpu usage in COD Warzone, dropping frames even with Discord on my phone. And no, it wasn't the GPUs fault. Also, those games -Siege and DBD- ran perfectly fine on my old laptop, so no need to upgrade just now.
