Should I get a 2008 Audi R8, Nissan GTR 2010, or a BMW i8? I am having a tough time deciding.
Well, that is a “broad paint brush” question as there are special editions and minor optional differences and also what your general use is for. I have driven and worked on all three. First of all, all three of these are very high performance border line super cars and will need the care and treatment as such or will fail you quickly. 1st option, the R8: great car, meant to be driven regularly, mechanically speaking this is what the Lamborghini's are “under the skin”. Fast, amazing control, about average ride comfort, very low- so increased difficulty of entry and exit. Draws attention, people notice you even when driving the speed limit no matter where you go. 2nd option, the GTR: another great car, however it doesnt feel like a supercar, feels like a fast, regular production car. Best way I can describe it is like how a Shelby mustang is. Visually does not illicit a public response, so its kinda “stealthy” in its own way. Generally only “car” people even know what it is. Rides pretty well and relatively easy entry and exit. 3rd option, BMW i8: decent car with great looks and a known badge behind it. Performance is on par if not a little below the others listed. Same thing I noticed with this that a lot of people have noted… with modern BMW's, performance and handling is where it should be, however the driver controls, information and entertainment features are a love it or hate it, and general consensus is “hate it”… yet BMW keeps putting it out there. In summary, my opinion is depending on what it is for… a daily driver GTR. A second car/weekend fun car… R8. BMW i8… pass…its just not worth it. Functionality of the GTR is so much higher and can be modified to be even faster and better, R8 is just strikingly good, probably the closest option to being a super car and is so well built… and both cars have a well thought out function and design that the BMW fails at.

Is the Mercedes Benz AMG GTR suitable to be used as a daily car?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, it depends. Assuming you have the money to operate and maintain it without worrying about cost, the other factor would be road conditions… how smoothly paved are the roads you use everyday? As long as there are no bad curbs or large potholes, then you’re good. No flooding, or deep snow? You’re good as well. Ground clearance may be the bigger issue since that puts a physical limitation on your car. Other than that, you should be fine. Most German cars can be, and should be used as daily drivers. This goes for the performance cars as well (Porsche, MB GTR, BMW i8/M3). They may not be as fun in traffic, or braving a blizzard or storm, but they will actually have less maintenance issues than those that use them only on weekends.
Why would anybody buy the BMW i8 if the Acura NSX is nearly the same price and much higher performing?
Why would anybody buy an Acura NSX if the Nissan GTR is WAY better priced and much higher performing? Because people like different things, and want something exotic. Not something that produces Honda’s.
Nissan GTR or Jaguar F-type R. Which is better?
The GTR is something else. It is in supercar territory (0-60mph in less than 3 secs). However, cars are more than numbers. They're about the emotion and looks. While the GTR does look good in person, the F-Type beats it. No question about it. Also, the V8 F-Type's engine sounds like it's busy making artificial thunders inside its engine block. The crackles and pops are just heaven! Moreover, the GTR is old. There's little different from the original GTR and the new 2015 one. A facelift is on its way, but an all new GTR would be better. Other cars you could consider are: Mercedes AMG GT. That sweet sound of an AMG V8! Porsche 911. GT3 for track use, GTS or standard Carrera for normal use. BMW i8. It's the future. Hellcat. Stupid fast for very cheap. Porsche Cayman GT4. It's so good that many would pick one over its bigger brother. A BMW M series car. Which car depends on the area. However, you can easily get the most expensive one, M6 GC if I'm not wrong, for GTR money. Audi RS6. It's a bonkers car. Stupid fast! Pre-owned Lamborgini or Ferrari. Only buy if you're ready to spend a lot of $$$ on repairs and maintenance. S63 AMG. When you want to go crazy fast in comfort. That's all that comes to my mind right now. Will update it later!

Depends on your budget, Jaguar (XJR575/F TYPE R/SVR, F Pace SVR, Project8/Project 7 are great buys), Mercedes (G63/AMG GTR is great), Audi doesn't reallyy have anything appealing for 2019, the R8 used to look great, and the A8 interior is nice but rather have an XJLR, BMW (i8/M8 are great cars)
